There are a number of options for a working holiday in the tourism sector in a region of your choice throughout Chile, in and around the Chilean capital of Santiago. All work places are located at amazing and unique regions and provide high service and attention to their customers. Chile is well known for its beautiful landscapes and outdoor activities which allow the tourism companies to offer excursions like trekking, kayaking, horseback riding and many other activities. Chile is an amazing country, probably one of South America’s best kept secrets.

The jobs may vary according to the place and the company. Usually the tasks are diverse and handled flexibly. Volunteers can work either in farms, hotels or resorts and travel agencies in Chile. As a volunteer your tasks will include welcoming and attending the (international) guests. This is a good way to practice your Spanish and English language skills as well as your social skills. Also you will make reservations and reply to customer inquiries (phone, email, personally). You will be organizing and coordinating tours, excursions and outdoor activities such as horseback riding, rafting, sight-seeing, wine tours, trekking, hiking, hot springs and biking. Apart from these tasks often there is some marketing and administration to do or – in the farms – taking care of animals (feeding and cleaning) and assisting in other farm work.

To participate in this project you should at least be 18 years old and have an intermediate level of Spanish. Your English level should be good to high. For some jobs, German language knowledge or other languages are an advantage. The job requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to a different working environment and varying tasks. Also you should be tolerant, open- minded and have good social skills. Of course if you chose to volunteer on a farm, you must have affection for animals and enjoy dealing with them and nature. Some project prefer volunteers with a study or background in tourism, international business or a similar field. Whichever option you chose, make sure you have a Travel Insurance with coverage in Chile (can be booked through our organization). Todos los lugares de trabajo se encuentran en regiones increíbles, únicas y proporcionan un alto servicio y atención a sus clientes. Chile es conocida por sus hermosos paisajes y actividades al aire libre que permiten a las empresas de turismo ofrecer excursiones como trekking, kayak, paseos a caballo y muchas otras actividades. Chile es un país asombroso, probablemente uno de los secretos mejor guardados de América del Sur.

Los puestos de trabajo pueden variar de acuerdo al lugar y la compañía. Por lo general, las tareas son diversas y manejadas con flexibilidad. Los voluntarios pueden trabajar ya sea en granjas, hoteles o centros turísticos y agencias de viajes en Chile. Como voluntario algunas de tus tareas consistirán en recibir y asistir a los clientes (internacionales). Esta es una buena manera de practicar el idioma español e inglés, así como habilidades sociales. También podrás hacer reservaciones y contestar a las peticiones de los clientes (teléfono, correo electrónico, personalmente). También podrás ser organizador y coordinador de tours, excursiones y actividades al aire libre como paseos a caballo, rafting, visitas turísticas, rutas del vino, trekking, senderismo, aguas termales y ciclismo. Aparte de estas tareas a menudo hay algo de marketing y administración para hacer y si tu trabajo es en las granjas, el cuidado de los animales (alimentación y limpieza) y la asistencia también serán parte e tus tareas diarias.

Para participar en este proyecto al menos debes tener 18 años de edad y tener un nivel intermedio de español. Tu nivel de Inglés debe ser de intermedio a avanzado. Para algunos puestos de trabajo, el conocimiento de otros idiomas como el alemán es una ventaja. El trabajo requiere flexibilidad y la capacidad de adaptarse a un entorno de trabajo diferente y tareas diferentes. También deberás ser tolerante, de mente abierta y tener buenas habilidades sociales. Por supuesto, si optas por ser voluntario en una granja, debes tener afecto por los animales y disfrutar de tratar con ellos y la naturaleza. Algunos proyectos prefieren voluntarios con estudios o formación en turismo, negocios internacionales o un campo similar. Independientemente de la opción que elijas, asegúrate de tener un seguro de viaje con cobertura en Chile (se pueden reservar a través de nuestra organización). Por último, los voluntarios deben estar disponibles durante al menos 8 semanas; para algunos trabajos 12 semanas.
